Mother Parkers decided to take proactive steps toward consolidating its day-to-day scheduling data by engaging Supply Chain Consultants (SCC) to help. SCC applied its scheduling algorithms to improve schedule attainment, visibility, and stability—exactly what Mother Parkers needed.
Abstract: The earned value management system (EVMS) is a method of tracking cost and schedule performance using work breakdown structure/earned value (WBS/EV) techniques. Formerly called C/SCSC (Cost/Schedule Control Systems Criteria) by the contract industry, an understanding of WBS basics is essential for any US contractor wishing to be selected for new major systems contracts over a certain funding threshold.

Abstract: Organizations need to control who has access to enterprise resources, what level of access individuals have, and who is authorized to grant access. But you may not know that identity management involves more than your organization s operations side—you must also align your infrastructure to maximize security. Find out key considerations and best practices for developing a user provisioning and access management strategy.
Abstract: User provisioning manages the entire life cycle of user access to IT resources. Traditionally, the connection between provisioning and IT security administration has been unreliable, with too many processes connected to too many systems. A better approach is to leverage a single application for user administration across the IT infrastructure. This model reduces complexity, enhances reliability, and lowers costs.
Abstract: Analysis of the tasks and time in information technology (IT) projects invariably reveals the presence of a familiar recurring burden: testing—often still performed manually and inefficiently, yet accounting for a substantial proportion of the budget. Can some simple and effective focused measures have a dramatic and positive impact on the success of key projects? That depends on your approach.
Abstract: While PeopleSoft has added yet another bit of weight to its applications portfolio with the acquisition of Annuncio, potentially earning thereby the ability to manage marketing campaigns and track individual customer's interactions across online and off-line channels, one is to wait and see how quickly and easily the company will assimilate a number of smaller products it has recently bought.
Abstract: Now that everyone understands the importance of tuning websites to maximize the user experience, the industry is scrambling to figure out how to measure it. WebCriteria has ridden into town with its latest silver bullet.
Abstract: End-user companies should track the financial health of their vendors to see if the vendor will be a collector or one of the collected. If the end-user company has a focused vendor, think of that vendor's health and help them become even better in your type of business. If your vendor is acquired, meet the new owners. The new owners motivation in buying your product and vendor was the install base and that's you. Showing interest is your part in keeping the relationship the way you want it.
Abstract: User training is a key aspect of the software implementation process. But it’s also the most overlooked, as companies often think more about software functionality than about how well their employees are adapting to using it. Don’t assume that your employees are too busy, or that software training costs too much. Find out how user software training can save you money and increase your return on investment (ROI).
Abstract: Compaq has jumped into the home Internet Appliance game with its latest iPAQ offering. Is this a continuation of computer manufacturers attempting to create a market?
Abstract: Lyme Computer, a woman-owned 18 person consultancy specializing in setting strategic IT agendas and implementation services for Federal Agenices, partners with publicly traded intrusion detection vendor in a gold security partner alliance.
Abstract: From Agilisys' fresh start illustrated in new account wins, a profitable quarter, and new product enhancements; the market should expect at least a continuation of the past but more likely its improvement.
Abstract: For cheese producer Mozzarella Fresca, producing multiple products was a scheduling challenge, and it needed a solution that could do more than Excel-based tools. The Zemeter Scheduler solution was able to add 15 percent capacity by optimizing scheduling processes. In fact, from molding to packaging, Zemeter Scheduler increased efficiency without Mozzarella Fresca needing to invest in new equipment.
Abstract: Access control is more than just checking devices for malware before admitting them to a network. Identity-based network access control (NAC) looks at the identities of users and devices, and knows what resource they are authorized to access, allowing enterprises to tightly control access, and the devices and behavior of users.

Abstract: The Internet is having an identity crisis. Long regarded as a powerful tool for cost reduction and service enhancement, the Internet is falling short of its promise because of the real and perceived threat of identity theft. Financial losses and insurance costs are mounting, as organizations struggle to protect their information perimeters and improve the strength of their authentication systems to ensure that the authorized user is present during the sign-in process. The widespread use and misuse of passwords as authentication tokens is generally cited as a cause of the accelerating erosion of user confidence and the increasing incidence of identity theft. It is generally agreed that passwords are not enough. Much has been lost, however, in the race toward person-present authentication systems. While the application of passwords is fraught with risk, the introduction of complex authentication infrastructures and cumbersome end user technology has eroded usability and increased the cost of security dramatically. This paper describes a new authentication approach that retains the simplicity and low cost of passwords, while gracefully introducing as much person-present assurance as is required by the application.
